These islands are so-named as there is no air access and visits by boat are difficult to arrange, unless you are on a cruising yacht visiting Suwarrow, the only one of these islands with a sheltered mooring. Outside of the cyclone season, visiting yachts often use favourable trade-winds to visit Suwarrow as it is on-route from Tahiti to Tonga.
Takutea and Manuae are uninhabited wildlife sanctuaries and permission to visit is difficult to arrange. Nassau and Palmerston are inhabited and a visit to Palmerston by boat can sometimes be arranged from Rarotonga. Taio Shipping, based in Rarotonga has cargo boats servicing some of these islands and it is sometimes possible to arrange a berth through them. P: (682)24905 E: firstname.lastname@example.org
